Types Of Lights- 


  1. By function - 


Ambient – Provides overall illumination for a room, mimicking natural light and creating a comfortable atmosphere. Examples include chandeliers, recessed lights, and wall sconces.





Accent - Highlights specific objects or areas, creating visual interest and drama. Spotlights, track lights, and picture lights fall into this category




Task lighting - Focuses light on a specific area for performing tasks such as reading, cooking, or working. Desk lamps, pendant lights, and under-cabinet lights are commonly used.




  1. By Fixture - 

 Chandeliers- Decorative fixtures with multiple arms, designed to be mounted on ceilings and provide ambient lighting




 Pendent - Suspended from the ceiling by a chain, rod, or cord, pendant lights can be used for both task and ambient lighting.




Recessed - Installed inside a ceiling or wall, providing a clean, streamlined look. They can be used for ambient, accent, or task lighting.




Track light- Feature multiple light heads that can be positioned along a track, offering adjustable and directional lighting.




Wall sconces- Mounted on walls, these fixtures provide up or down lighting and can be used for accent or ambient purposes




Floor lighting - Freestanding lamps that provide ambient or task lighting. Torchières ( Tall Floor Lamp) are a type of floor lamp that directs light upwards




Table lamp - Portable lamps placed on tables or desks, typically used for task lighting or to add a warm ambiance




Under cabinet Lights  - Mounted beneath kitchen cabinets to provide task lighting for countertops




Strip light - Flexible circuits with LED lights, commonly used for decoration and creating ambiance




  1. By technology - 

LED light - Energy-efficient and long-lasting lights that are available in various forms.




Fluorescent lights - Energy-efficient lights that use a gas-filled tube to produce light.




Filament lights - Traditional lights that produce light by heating a filament.
